Default 93 accord trans issue

I had my throttle body apart to clean it, and now it runs great, and my idle is where it shoud be without surging. Now my problem is that when I slow down for a intersection, when the car is ready to downshift into low, it really hits hard. It never did this before. It upshifts smooth and normal. This is somethink that started ever since I put the fuel system back together! any ideas?

If this was not there before and the only thing you did was remove the tb, I would double check the throttle control cable as a start.

From there, inspect the motor mounts.

Default trans issue

I checked the cable and that looks okay. I'm curious about the motor mounts. How will that affect the downshifting? What should I be looking for?

A mount coming apart will allow the engine to move too much. While downshifting the engine wants to rock forwards. When accelerating the engine wants to rock back.

Grab the valve cover & shake it. Look for excessive motion or noise.

like JimBlake said it could only be that the motor mounts are allowing too much movement and not the transmission itself. once these rubber engine/transmission mounts get old they start to come apart making more movement of the engine/transmission to be felt through the car. i had to replace mine a few years ago because i could feel the engine/transmission when speeding up and slowing down. the rear one is very hard to see but the others you should be able to see if they are cracking and starting to come apart. if you want tomorrow i can post pics, since my car is one year older then yours it should be the same. good luck and keep us updated if you figure it out.

Honda_Lady has some great additional info THANKS. Did you get good new from the insurance? - PM me.

OP-sorry for that, help me understand more- "I checked the cable and that looks okay"- Did you check this for proper movement, sorry a little confused.

If the cable movement is in spec's, mounts are good, next or maybe another thing to think about- When was the last trans fluid drain and fill?

Doing one at a time, place a jack under the oil pan-use a block of wood or something to ditribute the load.

Anytime-let us know how it goes.

EDIT: Should give a little more info. Even if all of the mounts are busted the engine/trans will not fall out. The jack is used to remove stress on the "other" mounts and also to help align the new/removed mounts in install....so there maybe some up/down movement of the jack under the motor needed to get things to "line up".
