may i offer a suggestion i have a 1993 honda acord edition also and it has done this 2 times the 4 years i have had it you may have already thought of this but i cant remember what it is called but it is in the distbutor square in size has 3-4 wires on it it mite be called the eltronic mod you said th d4 light flashed when my honda did it i replaced it and its fine when it got hot the part the car would shut off and wouldnt start back till it was cooled down good luck
