Default 94 Accord burnt grounds

I am a heavy equipment tech and one of our employees has this vehicle. He stated that this AM vehicle ran ok when going home no start no lights nothing. Reviewed all data and found ground wire missing from neg cable to valve cover, replaced same and vehicle started. moved to parking lot notice smoke from driver side. opened hood and found more grounds burnt from valve cover to strut tower. I have checked power outlet thinking that alternator reverse polarity nothing found any ideas this is not a versa handler that I am familiar with.

Battery installed in reverse? Excessive load on circuits?

Something is badly wrong, but not enough info to ID.

good luck

I've seen corrosion inside the crimp connection on the battery cables. Right where the end-piece is crimped onto the actual wire. Also it's possible for the cable to corrode INSIDE it's own insulation. Then the whole electrical load comes through the little ground cable at the valve cover (burning it up).

It's an idea to check out, anyway.
