I have 182K miles on my car and the filter has never been changed

The shop tells me they can't do it because they are having some trouble and have to removed the sub frame underneath??? Can't this all be done from above?

I hope they didn't screw something up and are not telling me?

There is a writeup in the DIY section by hondadude on how to replace that filter. The sub-frame doesn't have to come out.

I had the same car as yours, and I couldn't remove the bottom line. I had it replaced at the Honda dealership.

The fuel filter has no interval, and it is rare for me to read about a clogged filter on a Honda. If your car is not having any issues, then I would wait to replace that.
