94 Accord intermittent No Start
PA
Tell me about it. I have a replacement ECU (used and supposedly good) in hand but I have not installed it yet. I was hopping to get the problem to become consistent so that the day I swap them I could see an immediate change. All of the symptoms seem to be trending towards worse: it used to run for days at a time then be bad for one day. Now it seems more like it's evenly split, as though what ever the actual issue is, it's growing worse. I'm not afraid of a little.
I do not currently drive it for fear of being stranded and I've only got time on the weekends to mess with it. Mostly lately, its been just sticking the key in it and trying 10 times or so to hear the pump hum.
I've got the downloaded PDF shop manual and been through most of it. I stopped when I got to the ECU testing where they required the testing jig for it.

The testing jig is a quicker way to do electrical tests with the ECU still connected. You can easily back probe the electrical connector to do the test.
I think the ECU connectors on the accord have a hole above each wire where you can quickly back probe. Double check, because I could definitely be wrong about that.

Update:
After the rain stopped I had a chance to check the pins on the ECU as PAHonda suggested. Everything seemed normal, but this time it refused to start. This was the first time it has stayed in a no start condition. So I swapped out the ECU and it fires right up. It hasn't missed a beat in two weeks of driving. I'm not sure what was wrong, but I was out of time to diagnose. So when in doubt, swap out the most expensive part? Thanks to all for suggestions.
