Default 94 Accord Shifter cable issue

Just swapped out my shifter cables on 94 accord wagon ex. 5 speed. But the cable that puts it into gear, it won’t compress enough to engage 2/4/reverse. It’s as if the cable is just a TAD bit too short. I bought the cables off eBay, listed as oem swap for 5th gen. Any ideas before I buy another replacement and then try to sell these ones since they ran me $270 🤦‍♂️

Did the new cables have an OEM honda part number? The wagon might require a different part than the sedans. The easiest way to check is to go to hondapartsnow.com to see the OEM part number for a 94 ex sedan vs a 94 ex wagon. If the OEM part numbers are the same, you may have to do an adjustment on the cable.

You can do a google search for cd7-cd9.pdf and get a 94 accord shop manual pdf for free that will help describe the shift cable adjustment.
