94 Honda Accord EX VTEC wont idle anymore after EGR cleaning
I hope someone might be able to help me out with this one. I was having some trouble with my 94 accord running on 3 cylinders, it ran and idle'd fine at the time. I read that i may have a problem with my EGR valve because i had already replaced the plugs, wires, cleaned the injectors, checked all cables and was just about to buy a distributor even though i didnt think that was the problem. I just cleaned the EGR valves today and they were packed solid with deposits. I dont even know how it was running before they were so bad, but after the cleaning, it wont idle anymore. Actually, it wont even start unless my foot is on the pedal giving it gas. Does anyone have any clue why it is doing that? As soon as i take my foot off the gas, its stalls out. Any help would be fantastic!! Thanks in advance
You could have a leak in the fuel rail. Check the fuel rail to injector orings carefully for leaks. Also make sure your injector/manifold orings are snug fitting.
Check all vacuum line connections; PCV and brake booster in particular.
Your problem is likely related to something you removed and did not replace correctly.
Suggest also cleaning the idle air control valve and throttle plate.
good luck
