Default 95 4 cylinder multiple oil leaks

Hi, because of an accident that was not my fault I bought a 95 Accord EX with a 2.2 liter four cylinder on December of 2006, the price was good on this Accord. Found out after the sale the car had multiple oil leaks, so they replaced the oil pressure switch and the Vtech gasket, the dealer told me before hand that oil was caked on parts of the car. I think the motor was always low on oil and not sure of the ramifications of that. Since those items were replaced it does burn about a quart of oil every 4,000 miles. Is there any way to tell how healthy a motor is. The motor is noisy but been told they do get noisy as the miles pile up, currently it has 137,400 miles. I am afraid that the longevity of this motor is not going to be very long and it needs new rotors and pads all the way around plus both axles need to be replaced. Is there anyway to tell how healthy this motor is?

Thanks
Damon

1 qt/4k miles is good. You're probably leaking most of that volume. If gas mileage is 25-30 mpg for suburban driving, engine is probably fine.

A good check for possible oil pressure problems is to remove the valve cover and check the condition of the valve train. If it's covered w/ thick black caked layers of burnt oil, you may have problems w/ oil pressure, blocked gallery or blocked oil pump intake. If it's a nice tan brown translucent color, then all is well. Good maintenance has been performed.

good luck
