I would check for engine, transmission, and ABS computer codes. You just have to follow the instructions in the DIY section on how to get CEL codes.

The check engine light flashs are the engine computer codes.
The D4 light flashes are transmission computer flashes, just like the CEL flashes.

The ABS light will give you ABS codes. This one is a bit different than the other two where the ABS will flash main code, pause for a second, then a sub-code. The ABS will pause for 5 seconds between codes.

Let us know what code(s) were flashed and by which light.

I'm sure you checked the lock up solenoid? Might pull it to be sure the screen is clear and also check that the actual soleniods are good-open and close.

Yeah, it's OBD-1 so the only way to get error codes is the flashing D4 (& flashing CEL).

There are only a couple of things that I can think of. Try measuring the resistance between the proper pin of each solenoid at the TCU connector and body ground to see if it is the same as at the solenoid connector.

You can backprobe each solenoid and hook a test light up to ground, so you can see if there is voltage being sent from the TCU on each solenoid when driving. You would have to run the wire under the windshield to see the light.

Other than that, I am at the limit of what I can suggest.

You can post the ABS code, but I highly doubt that the ABS light has anything to do with the lockup problem. It is worth a shot if the ABS is an easy fix.

Ok and a reach, the throttle control cable is properly adjusted?

EDIT: Found this as well. Codes or symptoms of 3, 6, 11 with no codes -all to do with lock up or should I say lack of....
3=TP sensor
6=A/T position switch
11= Coil wire
Above is high level descriptions, the manual has more detail
