Update on ECU replacement.

I got the used ECU and put it in 2 nights ago. The car started right up and then it idled for about an hour while I worked on our van. I took it out for a short ride to get some ice cream to celebrate. (Not real confident yet...) Ben and Jerry's Peanut Butter Cup for those curious. Made it back home.

Last night went for a long ride with my wife following me. I had gotten stuck with this car 4 times before the ECU replacement. "Don't have to hit me over the head with no tire tool!!!" Car ran great. Starting up great with no hesitation. Before the ECU I would still have to prime the key sometimes to build up pressure or something to get it started.

Drove the car to work this morning and it did great. Confidence is getting higher. I really did not think it would have been the ECU but I knew I had to rule it out.

I guess the warmness of the main relay is just SOP. Thanks for all the help. I will let you know if anything changes.

Glad to hear the good news. Sounds like you got it under control, knock on wood.

Call me a n00b if you will, but can someone tell me where I can locate the Main Fuel Relay? I've scoured my Haynes manual and can find nothing about such a thing. Is it listed under a different name, perhaps?

Thanks again!

This link shows the location for the 98-02 accords near the bottom of the page.

Thanks! So, according to that pic, it looks like it's a self-contained box, meaning no repair only replacement?

I think that you can slide the cover off and get to the solder joints. You might have to pry a bit on the cover from what I remember.

Many people re-solder the joints. It is a repairable part.

Yeah, if I can get to the joints, then I can repair it. Didn't know you could pry off the cover. Excellent.
