95 Honda Accord v6, RPM's flux while idle - Engine dies.
Hello, my younger brother owns a 95 Accord V6. He's young and wreckless with the vehicle. Needless to say after a night plowing through rain and puddles of water his vehicle has had enough.
When I start the vehicle the rpms shoot to about 1500 on idle, bog down, then slowly rise, and eventually completely dies.
I jumped the DL connectors and got error codes 8 and 9.
Those are the TDC and CYP sensors. I've read conflicting reports of them being inside the Distributor or near the oil pump?
Where should I look? Where should I start? Obviously something must have shorted and burned out. I don't think it's a fuel pump issue, but could it be anything other than the sensors/distributors causing the problems???

On the V6, those two sensors are under the timing belt cover. The OBD1 accords had those two sensors in the distributor. The 95 V6 is OBD2.
There is an electrical connector that comes out of the timing belt cover that has four wires. You may want to check to see if it got wet or the wires got damaged.

I inspected a cable near the timing belt that runs down near the oil dipstick. It's caked in grease. I've noticed it's pretty moist down there as well. I started his car and revved the engine, if I keep it going - before it dies, white smoke comes out of the front of the engine.
My question now is, which gasket is leaking? I'm gonna try and clean the cable next time I have time and see if that fixes the rpm/idle issue. Might be too late though???

Bump. here is a picture of where I believe the smoke is coming from. Obviously I'm not experienced mechanically, but I'd like an honest opinion about what the issue most likely is.
Thanks for the help by the way, I do appreciate it.
