Default 95 Odometer Piece & Lights

Hi, in the process of replacing the cigarette lighter and then the fan speed switch. Got me thinking maybe the bulbs in the speedometer section could also be replaced they are so dim after 21 years.

Have any of you taken the speedometer piece out and have you replaced all the lights in there? How hard was taking the speedometer piece out first and then how difficult was replacing the lights? The lights on vent position and fan speed look easy enough, one looks like a flat head screwdriver is used to turn and the other kind just turn the part with fingers? Are they all like the two above in the speedometer piece?

Am trying to judge if it's possible to do this, all the lights are dim or out. It's a great running car!

If you are able to remove the cluster, then you can certainly change the bulbs. You can download a 94 accord shop manual that will show you the bulb locations and help with most repairs on your car, as the 95 is identical to the 94. Go to the common diy thread on top of the gen tech help forum for the online shop manual link.

None of the bulbs are too difficult to change. The backlight/illumination bulbs are all the type where you twist the base to remove, then plug in the new bulb. Or you can buy the bulb+base from Honda.

If I think the bulbs specific for a light, like the seat belt or check engine light require you to take apart the cluster, but that is pretty simple to do as well.

You can go to a site like hondapartsnow.com to see how many bulbs you need and what Honda would charge for them. I'm sure you can find them at a parts store from aftermarket suppliers by doing some research.
