96 2.2 bogging and backfiring
my car is a daily driver 2.2 automatic. just started bogging and backfires on me when i accelerate a little give it more gas and it runs fine . i have changed a bad down stream o2 sensor, the plug wires, and ran a scanner over all sensors and cannot come up with a reason why it is bogging. i have also checked the fuel pressure which is also good. please any help would be appreciated. thanks

You didn't mention if the spark plugs, air filter, or the distributor cap and rotor were changed. Change them if they are due. Only use NGK zfr5f-11 spark plugs.
Have you ever cleaned the EGR ports on the intake manifold? Here are several sources on how to clean the EGR ports.
There is a DIY writeup by Hondadude: https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/foru...ad.php?t=28456
Also another site with good info on EGR cleaning: http://www.dhost.info/accordinfo/howto/egr.html
Google T2T013.pdf for the procedure for a 94-97 accord. Its on the last two pages.

Hey PA thanks for the info. i just got through cleaning the EGR ports, they weren't completely closed yet, but it is still stumbling and backfiring through the intakeupon slight acceleration while in park. i have tried evrything that i can think of except checking the distibutor. how do i go about doing that? what else could i try?
