96 Accord Hesitating
I have a 96 Accord 2.2 L auto trans
i have been having a problem with it shifting out of 2nd to 3rd but it only does it when the speedometer is jumping around. if the speedo is acting normal the car shifts normal.
when i start the car sometimes the speedo will auto matically jump to about 20 mph then itll drop to 0 thats when i know im going to have an issue. Once i put the car in drive and start to roll the speedo will jump up and down till i get into 3rd gear then it will act normal till i come to stop again and repeat the process.
If anyone has any advice on this it will be greatly appreciated

There are two ways to get codes on your car.
You can stop by an autoparts store and have them scan for codes. The connector is behind the ash tray. Get the actual code. It will start with the letter P and have four numbers, like P1234.
Or short the service connector under the glove box. If you open the common diy thread on top of the gen tech help forum, there is a link to checking engine codes you should read.
