Default 97 accord broken timing belt

I have a 97 Accord 4 cylinder manual trans with 280K miles on it. The timing belt broke and I am wondering if is is worth doing a DIY replacement. I understand that this is an interference motor and probably bent the valves or worse???
Let me know what I should expect in a worse case scenario for parts replacement & costs.
Thank you!
Bruce

My son's '94 Accord with roughly 200K miles had the same experience last week. I posted similar questions recently. I decided to pull the head and see what damage occurred. The result was both exhaust valves on Cylinder No. 4 were bent, so I had to replace only two valves. I had a local machine shop do a valve job on the head and replace both valves for $210. I picked up the cylinder head yesterday and started re-installing all of the parts today. While the car has been sitting on jackstands, I noticed that the water pump started leaking coolant through its weep hole. So I'll need to pick up a new water pump as well. This project is kind of a pain, but I did find the source of at least two oil leaks during the process--namely, the front balancer shaft seal and the distributor o-ring. So this project has some good.
