'97 Accord LX Trans Issue? HELP!
Hi! I just inherited a 1997 Accord LX, V6 / 2.7L from my sister...HOPING SOMEONE CAN HELP!
It's GREAT, but every so often the sppedometer dips to ZERO, the D4 light blinks and the automatic shifting gets poor...
The weird part is that when this is NOT happening, the A/T shifts fine...
Solenoid issue? Trans? Computer?
I took to O'Reilly, scaned and the code is p1794:
BARO signal circuit to the TCM is open
BARO signal circuit to the TCM is shorted to ground
BARO signal circuit to the TCM is shorted to voltage
TCM or PCM has failed
HELP!!!!!!!

I will admit - my 5th gen OBD-II sucks and add that it is a V6.
Anyway, I'm having trouble with that code (p1794). Humor me, next time it sets (light comes on or the speedo goes to zero) - try to use the cruise control - I'm assuming the car has it and it works.

It is the same as a TCU code 13 which is the baro sensor.
Your 97 OBD2 car does have both an ECU and TCU. This problem could be either the ECU or TCU.
ECU is the engine computer
TCU is the transmission computer.
