97 ex engine misfire
Good day
I have a 97 EX R and have a check engine light on. When I recovered the codes with my Matco code reader this is what I found
P0302
P0304
P1300
P1399
I have replaced:
Plugs
Wires
Cap
Rotor
Coil
EGR Valve
Ignition module
I have checked the entire vacuum system for leaks and checked to make sure that the EGR controller is working properly.
I am suspecting a EGR issue as these codes will only happen with VERY light pressure on the gas pedal when you are traveling between 50 and 100 kph and when it does you feel a definite misfire in the engine. My questions are this.
#1 On the 2.2 VTEC engine is there a EGR port to each cylinder or is the port just dumped back into the intake manifold?
#2 If there are a port to each cylinder do I need to remove the intake to clean these ports out or is there some other way to clean them out?
#3 Any other suggestions as to what else this could be if you don't think this is EGR related?
Thanks a ton
Cheers

It could be from plugged EGR ports. They are on top of the intake manifold, and you don't have to remove the intake to access them. Here are three sources that describe the procedure.
There is a DIY writeup by Hondadude: https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/foru...ad.php?t=28456
Also another site with good info on EGR cleaning: http://www.dhost.info/accordinfo/howto/egr.html
Google T2T013.pdf for the procedure for a 94-97 accord. Its on the last two pages.
