Exclamation 97 Ex: Washed engine bay; now the car wont start?

Sup all
1997 Accord Ex F22 5 speed

I just purchased an Accord yesterday and I decided to give it a thorough cleaning today. I sprayed degrease on the bay and hosed it down like ive done many times before with my Civic.
I also did the air filter and VC gasket but I doubt that has anything to do with it.

About 2 hours later I went to start the car and nothing. It cranks, makes a sound as if something is stuck, then stops. Ive tried cranking many times and nothing. Before this the car had no problems starting.
I also swapped out the resistor box with a different one with no avail. I disconnected the harness plugs on the passenger side to let them dry, but I didnt see any water in them.

Is there a fuse I could check? I checked the ones in the passenger side box and they are all fine, including the bolt in ones.

Thanks in advance!

Did you get the distributor cap wet? There may be water or degreaser in there that could cause the car not to start. You may want to remove the cap and clean out any moisture in there.

That could definitely be it, ill check it out in the morning. As of now several harness plugs are disconnected.
Im kinda bummed, I just got this car and im already messing things up!

ps @ PAhonda: *drooooool* at your MT TSX!! That is my dream car as of the moment. I purchased the Ex for $1600 in plans on cleaning it then selling it for more and save up for a down payment on an 06-08 TSX.

I had a similar car to yours, a 95 accord EX MT until about a year ago.

I like the TSX that I have now. I searched for a while to find one that I wanted that was in the right price range. Thanks for the compliment.

Yeah I have also been searching for a while and its really hard. I even set my search parameters to 500 miles and I find like 3-4 MT ones.

I test drove a couple but I wasnt satisfied with the condition and asking price.

It took me a while to find mine. I found mine with 97K miles in Cleveland, OH for $9500. That is about an hour from my parents house. I bought the car over Thanksgiving when I was visiting (I lived in Illinois at the time).

I used autotrader.com to find my car. Craigslist had some too, but I use that for smaller purchases typically.

I would avoid an 04 as they had some problems and had no XM radio. The 05 is pretty nice it has XM radio and some other minor features added. The 06 has updated bumpers/headlights and rims. It also has a headphone jack and bluetooth. The FOBs could remember your seat position settings. I don't use those items, so the price difference wasn't worth it. If I had more money, I might have gotten an 06. Funds were very tight at that time.

Depending on what you want to do to the TSX would dictate what year I would get. For example, the PCM can be reflashed with Hondata on the 04-07 TSX. I don't think the 08 can be done for some reason. IMO, the stock setup is pretty solid, and mods can cause problems and get expensive.
