Default 97 honda accord won;t start

hey! i'm a newbie to this forum. i bought a 97 accord lx with a 2.2 4 cylinder that needed a motor, so i just finish puting the motor in ,but it won't start. i know it;s firing because i put gas in the spark plug holes and it ran until it burned all the gas off the plugs. i was wondering it the transmission could have anything to do with it because it won;t go into any gear now.(automatic) what would be the cause of it not getting gas.i took the plugs out ,but there are no gas on them. i know that the fuel pump is working because when i take the line off it will pump gas. for some reson it's not making it to the plugs. thanks.

it might be your injectors... or a cloged up fuel filter

i pretty sure it's not the fuel filter, because gas is making it to where the line is where the injectors are. But i guess it could be the injectors. Anymore ideas.thanks

Double check all your wiring connections, sounds like the injectors are not opening and closing.

I have to agree with makoman it sounds like an electrical problem. I'm assuming that you put in the same year motor and all the connections were the same. Good Luck and let us know how you make out.

thanks for the help. it was the injectors.i change them and now it will crank up, but now i have another problem it's idleing between 4 and 5 thousand RPM. It won't idle down. i'm afraid it's going to hurt the engine. Any ideas what might cause this. It does it with or with out the cables hooked up.Iput the same year model motor back in so all the plugs were the same.Thanks.

depending on if it's idling like that when warm or cold you just need to adjust your idle is sounds like, it's a little screw on the throttle body towards the firewall if memory serves....

The throttle cable should have slack in it.

hey! sorry for responing, had to go out of town (death in the family) i figured out the idleing problem, i forgot to put anti-freeze in it. now for the new problems. i have drove the car and it seems like it's doing just fine, but the check engine light won't go off. i purchased a obd2 tester and it's giving a code of p1758. i'ved looked up the code, all it says is tranmission concerns. also the battrey light won't go off. i put a new battery in it and had the alternator checked.it
checked good. thats enough for now. any help would be appreciated.
