Are these basically the same? I know the lenses are different but would 02 tail lights work in a 98? or 98 in an 02? just curious.

I am not sure.

They aren't the same part number. Its like the 94/95 headlights will work in a 96/97 accord. The fit isn't perfect, but close.

You would have to stop by a junkyard to pickup one for cheap and see if they will fit.

 

98-02 should be the same I'd imagine...

 

I would say yes. Because 98% of the time when you search for lights everytime they come up with years for that car it always says it would fit all models in 98-02 years. so i would go with it.
