Im trying to fix my mother in laws 98 Accord.The car sometimes just wont start.Then the next day she starts right up and runs great. When it dosn't start I am getting spark. I disconected the fuel pump and ran a test light and I am hot to the pump. There dosn't seem to be a relay for just thefuel pump.The only relay that I can figure is the "main relay" Im not to sure where it is other than somewhere on the stearing colum. The problem is the car is running great so its hard to fix a car thats running. Is it possible (or common) that a fuel pump can workintermittantly? I bought a fuel pump buthave not installed it, I dont want to play the game of just throwing parts money andtime in a car and not have the problem fixed. Any advise would be great. Thanx GUY

 

when was the last time you changed your fuel filter? a clogged one could cause it to start intermittently like you said.

no problem. my friends 94 got stuck at my house because he needed a new fuel filter. it was turning over but you could tell it wasnt get any fuel. the next day it started after a few tried. he drove it straight to the shop and when he got it changed, his whole car ran 200% smoother
