98 accord, AC on, power goes off, engine stays on
Ok, the battery cables were covered in that green battery acid stuff, it was so bad that you couldn't see ANY copper that would actually make contact with the leads.
After cleaning the leads and cables, I had the battery and alternator tested with all the electrical load I could think of: radio, lights, wipers, fans, A/C... passed with flying colors.
So far, driving for couple days no low RPM and no power downs
In conclusion, all my issues seem to have been resolved by some 'maintenance', a little oil (actually a lot) and some battery acid residue cleanup.
I want to thank you guys for helping me with this, I'm sure I'll be back here next time my quarter million km Accord gives me trouble.
BTW: can I charge my A/C in this car, it's not as cold as it used to be?

Thanks for posting the fix.
Watch the battery. Sometimes that green crud is caused by hairline cracks in the plastic case next to the terminal posts.
