Default 98 Accord V6 - Shopping for Engine Replacement

I'm looking for a J30A1 a.k. 3.0 Liter V6 for a 98 Accord. Question:

Can any of the v6 Engines for the Accord from 98-02 go into my 98?

For some reason, 98 and 99 are kept separate from 00-02 while I've been shopping. Could there be a reason?

Thanks so much,

SG

After reading Haynes Manual, a difference of ignition exists between 98-99 and 00-02. I'm sure that can be modified somehow to make the more recent engine work.

I think 00-02 V6 used Coil Over Plug system - that's the difference.

Your right! That's it! But, is there a retro solution which opens up choices for engines??

That would be sweet

I guess you'd need the ECU & wiring harness to go along with the older engine.
