hi there. we need to know what kind of car your driving.... im assuming is a i4 w/ an AT ? or is it manual.... ??? either way, replace it w/ the same type and it doesn't matter if it's from a vtec engine... they have the same tranny (as long as they are i4 both or v6)

Put your car info down in the bottom area like KeviAccord is, then everyone can help you better with the right answers...

Im not quite sure about the 96 goin into a 98, from what I have noticed the 98 tranny have a 5 gear setup while the 94-97 have a four gear with O/D. they bolt up fine mechanically, its just the computer work could be buggered up.

The vtec thing doesnt matter at all.
