Default 98 honda starts runs then drops to 300 RPM after first rev.

no codes
new spark plugs
new wires
new value cover gasket

Low rpm means engine is starved for air; throttle plate is likely very dirty and idle air control valve ports and screen clogged. Clean both. See DIY forum for guidance.

And in the DIY secton, look for a post by me about setting the BASE idle.

you will love this I took off the battery post so not to run it down a few days later
i hooked it back up and the car runs great. what do you all think
