Question 98 manual trans cable replace

Hi,
My 98 accord 4 door 4 cylinder manual transmission cable is fraying and needs replaced. Its difficult to get into 1st/2nd gear. I can see it frayed where the cable exits the sheath near the transmission.

I ordered the parts (comes with both cables) and they should be in next week. Can anyone please share with me the procedure for replacing the cable (pair of cables)? Aside from the basic wrenches, wratchets, screwdrivers, and jack stands, are there any special tools (factory or oversized wrench/socket) that I might need? How long should this job take? Several hours? Any help or tips are appreciated! Thanks so much.

Krishna

Should come with two cables as an assembly, just the basic socket and wrenches and you should be fine.
