Default 99 4DR EX: Start Issue

More than a few weeks back I worked on the crankshaft bolt (sheared off) and replaced the key. I noticed a bolt is missing to the timing belt tension arm and only the spring is holding the arm to keep the timing belt in tension (loosely). We bought the car from a friend early this year and they told us nothing major (including the timing belt) was done with the car.

I put everything back and tried to start it up. It didn't fire up (it cranks) and not too surprise there. Now, when the crankshaft bolt sheared off, did that caused any damage to the crankshaft or the timing belt is too loose so it wouldn't fire up?

Did you verify that it still has the proper timing? If it jumped time at any point it may have bent a few valves or worse.... I'd start by checking all the timing settings, correct the missing bolt issue, then if still no start check for spark and fuel

first off . if you are talking about the small bolt on the left side tensioner,, It is NOT supposed to be there , if it is remove it ..
have you checked cam timing?? put lower part on top dead and make sure that the cam aligns properly ,
