Default 99 Accord LX O2 Sensor problem

Took my car to Autozone and got two codes that are both related to my Sensor 1 (O2 Sensor). The codes were 0133 and 0420. The guy there said that I need to replace the sensor, part #13075. Just curious, is it possible to clean this part or are there any other common easy fixes for this b/c the replacement part is $84, which is kinda expensive?
Thanks.

Code 0133 indicates the sensor is responding slowly. This requires a replacement. I have heard of guys removing the sensor and attempting cleaning w/ a blowtorch, but I'm not aware of any success w/ that fix. If you have the time/patience, you can try.

There are lower cost O2 sensor options online. Check ebay for universal sensors if you're up to splicing the sensor wires. I've bought used O2 sensors for < $25 bucks on ebay that were fine. Even a price of $89 is not ridiculous when you consider they usually last at least 70k-90k miles. I've run some far longer w/o problems.

The P0420 should not be addressed until you've replaced the O2 sensor, reset the ECU, and run for a while to see if it returns. It can be caused by a faulty O2 sensor.

good luck

Okay. Thank you very much for the information. I'll just buy a new one then.
