Question ABS does not work but no ABS Light?

Hey everyone,

I cannot find this issue anywhere for any type of car at all, let alone a Honda.
Except for some guy who didn't realize his ABS bulb was burnt out.

With that being said, I have a 1995 Honda Accord dx with abs (obviously,) and I decided to finally replace the ABS pump that has been broken since I got the car roughly a year ago.
I swapped over all the lines and honestly it wasn't all that bad, just a little penetrating fluid and none of them broke. When I put the new pump/assembly (got it all as one piece,) I get in the car, turn the key to the run position, and the ABS light comes on like its supposed to, so I know my bulb is not burned out. Then when I start the car, the abs light goes out after 2 seconds or so and does not come back on. I can hear the pump making its loud gurgling noise it does when it first starts, and then I can drive as normal. The brake pedal feels great, its right at the top as it should be, but, when I slam on the brakes, the tires lock up & squeal and the pedal doesn't start throbbing like, (correct me if I'm wrong,) it's supposed to when the ABS should be being activated. This issue makes literally no sense to me. Like I said I can drive the car fine and you wouldn't know the ABS doesn't work unless you slam on the pedal. Where should I start? Also, before anyone asks, yes the brake fluid is filled to the max in both the master cylinder and the ABS reservoir, and both the brakes and the ABS pump have been bled. Just replaced all the fluid and bled when I switched over the pump assembly.

Doubt it matters for this, but it is a 5 speed manual with the F22B2 non-vtec engine, and the entire car is bone stock minus a short ram intake I bought purely for the reusable filter.

Lastly, this is my first forum post so I'm new to all of this, and also bare with me on response times, I'm currently entering my freshman year in college so I'm quite busy.

I'd recommend checking for ABS codes. Some codes will not cause the abs light to turn on. You check abs codes the same was you check the engine codes, by shorting the 2-pin connector un the glovebox, then turn the key to the II position. Count the abs light flashes. The common diy thread on top of the gen tech help forum has a writeup that should help.
