ABS light and ?

You have several threads dealing with issues on your instrument cluster. I'm thinking that you have a problem with the instrument cluster. It may be worthwhile to pull the cluster and look for signs of cracked solder joints, corroded connections on the board, bad board components, etc.

Picked up an abs computer at junkyard. $8. Same part #. From an 02 ex v6. So, if I install it and turn on ignition what codes should I see? Without driving car? Are codes stored in PCM or abs computer? Say I have a bad wheel sensor. Or bad pump motor or bad this and that. Will new computer see it since it does system check?

Yep, abs light came on after 50ft. light flashes read code 14. LF sensor short. Both front wheel sensors have same ohm reading though. Wouldn't they be different? the wheel bearing was so bad the rim was rubbing on knuckle arm. I took off sensor and tip was covered in metal bits. the inner bearing dust shield was in 2 pieces and I did not replace it as I am not sure how to even track it down. I know the metal dust shield might extend life of bearing but car will be gone in 3 months. does it make any difference in sensor function if it is gone?

Depending on where you measured, the short might be somewhere between the ABS controller and whatever plug you disconnected.
Losing the dust shield shouldn't affect sensor function, but 2 other things will definitely affect it.
- All the metal stuff stuck to the senor.
- The wheel/hub being out of position (from bad wheelbearing).
