Default ABS Light coming on???

'96 accord 2.2 vtec

I picked the car up and it has had an abs light every since I got it. You turn the car on and can hear what sounds like a compressor leaking air (might not pertain to it) and after about 30-90 ofthe car being on, you hear a click and the abs light comes on. Any ideas of what to check and how???

Check for ABS codes. Short service check connector and ABS light will flash the codes. First a long test flash, then short flashes (f) and short pause (p) to code the first and 2nd digit of code. For instance ffff-p-f=4-1.

Check DIY forum for procedure to extract Check Engine codes. Same procedure except flash code is different and different indicator light.

Post the code back for additional guidance.

good luck

I'm a little confused as FI what a short service check connector is. Just an ODB scanner?

I'm not trying to be rude, but I did read that. I just don't understand what to hook up to get the light to start flashing.

Under the glovebox is a gray or blue connector that is not plugged into anything.

Use a paperclip to connect those two wires together.

I do not think they have rednecks in Japan where the system was designed.
If it is below what you think should be done you can drive your car to Autozone and they will scan the codes for you in a less-Redneck way if you wish.
