Default Accessory Power Socket failed - pin doesn't touch

Hey folks,

I have a 2002 Accord, and I have the strangest problem - only some devices work when connected to the Accessory Power Socket (formerly known as the cig outlet).

It looks like the contact at the bottom of the outlet is stuck "down" and so that it only comes into contact with the devices that have a longer pin. Which... pretty much excludes most devices (gps, radar detector - only my inverter has a pin that's long enough)

Is this something that can be easily fixed or do i need to replace the entire socket?

ok this is a dumb one but here it goes.
did you try sticking something sharp like a pencil and try pushing the pin further back. It is spring loaded
so it mught actuality release on its way back.
