Accord 2001 LX 2.3 l automatic got around p1381
I got around the p1381 limp mode and intermittent idle bump down by increasing the idle at the throttle body cable Wheels to 127 RPMs... and open the idle air screw two turns... now no check engine light and runs perfect Except for high idle... Distributor leaks some oil but tolerable...... I put a load on the motor with the AC to bring down the idle so I can shift ...... Vacuum okay alternator okay.... Everything points to the cyp sensor but it's the intermittent idle bump down.. Every 4 seconds or so that makes me wonder if I have more than one problem.... The idol bump down seems to throw the p1381 and leads to limp mode... so as I described before now I am getting around the problem.... Any information would be well appreciated thank you

The CYP sensor is under the timing belt cover. Have you had any work done around there recently?
There is an electrical connector that comes out where the lower timing belt cover seals against the engine. You may want to check the connector and the wire harness nearby.

The CYP sensor is in the distributor.
P1381 can also be caused by electrical interference from an alternator with faulty diodes, see this thread:
