Either re-build that alt yourself or replace it with one already rebuilt.....I guess you could also get a used one from a bone yard and see what happens.

I merged your threads, because they are dealing with the same problem. Please continue to use only this thread.

P1381 is an error code for a disrupted signal from the cylinder position sensor in the distributor. The problem could be the sensor, the wiring, or the engine computer. It sounds like you have a volt meter. I'd suggest to get a shop manual for your accord. You can get one for about $22 at automanualsource.com as a pdf.

You need to check the resistance at the distributor electrical connector (between the yellow and black wire). Also inspect the pins in the connector and the wiring nearby for any obvious damage.

Default P1381 Honda Accord 2001 LX limp mode not turn car off turn car on limp mode goes away

Chronological order idle bucks intermittently-------check engine light comes on------- then limp mode starts, wont go past 3000 RPMs surges idle or Road----------turn car off --------turn car on-------- and limp mode goes away for 10 minutes, every time like clockwork but idle still bucks intermittently...... same exact thing every time. Restart the car and limp mode goes away for 10 minutes that's what's getting me thinking I'm starting to narrow it down thanks alternator ruled out .......distributor has oil leak......egr...good passageways and volts O2 sensor checks out good TPS is getting volts cylinder position sensor is getting volts air intake position sensor getting volts still thinking about have to drive 40 or 50 miles before the computer figured it out and also how many starts has to have before it figures it out that seems to be the kicker making troubleshooting really difficult thanks tailwind
