Default Accord reving at 3000rpm only

Hey guys, I have a 1996 accord dx with a f22b2 in it. I recently swapped the engine due to 2 valves that were bad. Now, with my new engine, it only revs up to 3000rpm and it stats acting as a rev limiter. Also, it won't shift into any gear unless if I let it take it's time. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Your check engine light is on, so find out what code is stored on your ECU. Stop by an autozone and have them read the code then post on here. The code will be P and 4 numbers, i.e. P1234.

The connector for the 96 is behind the ash tray.

the code is for my o2 sensor, it's not working right now, but we did use a used sone from another accord and it went away. Idk, but it's really becoming a big headache

There's 4 different codes for the primary O2 sensor, 4 more for the secondary O2 sensor. Knowing which one might be a good clue for what's going on.

A code 4 is for the crank position sensor.

It is under the timing belt cover and should have a 4-pin connector sticking out. Unplug sensor and clean it out. You can measure the resistance across pins with the blue and white wire. The resistance should be 1850-2450 ohms.
