Have a 95 EX Accord. Having engine position 1 sensor failure. As I understand this sensor is inside the distributor. I bought an aftermarket distributor (I know not the best idea) and put it in, but it would not start. I put the original back in and started no problem.

Is there a way to match up the rotor position of the aftermarket to match the position of my old distributor or is trying to get the aftermarket to work a waste of time?

I replaced the seals in my distributor a few years back with no issues so I think I have the installation correct, but the timing is not correct on my replacement.
