Default Aftermarket Speedo

96' Accord
I like some other Accord owners have had problems with my speedometer. It goes crazy but will occasionaly work fine and the cruise control and odometer work fine. Along with getting another gauge cluster I was looking at getting an aftermarket speedometer from autometer. They look really cool and I was wondering if they were hard to install(the electrical kind)? As anyone done this and have any comments as well?

Default RE: Aftermarket Speedo

Does the Check Engine Light every illuminate? If not, then the speedometer movement is likely damaged. CEL would indicate a likely Vehicle Speed Sensor problem. I would get a used gauge cluster to repair. There are some issues w/ updating the odometer setting w/ your local state vehicle registration.

I've no experience w/ aftermarke speedometer movements, but this might be a way of getting around the odometer reset issue. I do know the speedometer movment parts are delicate and easy to damage.

good luck
