air conditioning affecting brakes?
Why do i loose a lot of pedal when I turn on the air in my 96 accord 4 cyl. 5 speed ? The higher i turn up the fan the worse it gets. It gets downright scary with fan on high. I read somewhere that it's because a sensor pics up the idle when the compressor kicks in therefore pushing the car when in gear... like stepping on the brake and gas at the same time making it "seem" like the brakes are failing a bit. Well there's no "seem" to it..they don't work near as good. Don't know, but the wife won't drive it, and i'm leary of it to .
Anyone have a idea or have the same problem ?

air n brakes
Thank you for reply's. The pedal goes almost to the floor and barely slows down the car...i had to do a quick downshift to make a turnoff the other day. Sounds crazy but the higher the fan is when the air's on the worse the brakes are.

I had a brake master cylinder failure (95 Integra). Piston was leaking back to the reservoir, the classic situation where the pedal sinks slowly & smoothly to the floor.
Funny thing is it DID seem related to AC being on. I was never able to figure out why that was related. But after I got a new master cylinder, it was all good again.
