Default alloy wheel finish deterioration

The finish on the alloy wheels on my 2006 Accord SE has deteriorated in many areas; the clear coat finish has worn off in some areas and the surface is all bubbled up looking in other areas. I have never used any harsh chemicals on them so I am very disappointed in their poor quality

The service manager says 'Honda will consider this a cosmetic defect, so they wont do anything, unless there is a class action suit'

I say B/S. If the paint fell off the entire body, that would be cosmetic also, and would also be unacceptable!

Has anyone else out there expereinced this on their accords? have you complained to your dealers and did you get any relief?

Thanks,

Roland

Similar problems on a 1998, clear-coat over polished aluminum. In my case, it was way out of warranty, and in fact it clearly started from stone chips.

I had talked with someone about re-painting the clear-coat, but he said it's not at all easy to get clear to stick to polished surface.
