Default Antenna Replacement....HELP

I own a 1993 Honda Accord which has the power antenna that pops up and down when the radio is turned on and off. Does anyone out there know if it is possible to take that out and install a standard, regular antenna?

yes, you just remove that antenna then you'll find a power wire that runs from the stereo (usually blue) disconnect that wire, put in the new antenna, cap/tape off the blue power wire, hook up the new antenna and you're done, just access the antenna from inside the car and it will be very straight forward from there.

I recently replaced the power antenna in my 94EX w/ a fixed, flexible whip antenna. It's available on ebay for about $30. I tried mast replacement and tinkering w/ gear box, but still would not go fully down and had a very annoying grinding noise at end of run buth up and down. Silence is golden.

good luck
