Default Any known 2015/2016 Accord Issues

Hi guys, new to forum, first post,

Sorry for the general questions but I'm in the market for another new Accord LX after giving my last one (2007) to a family member in need back in 2010. I owned a 1997 before that one and racked up over 300K reliable miles before selling it to buy the 07.

Anyway, after I gave that one away I looked into buying a used Civic (2005 - 2009) and was quickly turned off to the idea when I found out about the engine block leaks that were being reported. Ended up with a used Toyota Prius for the last 5 years, not a bad car but ugly-ish and I miss the Accord.

So has anyone heard of any serious issues with the newer Accords that haven't been acknowleged yet by Honda? How's the reliability of the CVT trans? Also, how long has this latest generation of Accord been around?

I just want to be sure I'm going to have the same reliability with a new one that I had with the others because I plan on keeping it for the next 10 years.

Thanks.

40,000 + miles on my '14 Accord. Zero problems. I have the six speed stick. My wife has the CVT on her CR-V. No issues there. It works well, even better than a traditional automatic.

Thanks Dan, If it were up to me I'd go for the 6MT but the wife insists on an automatic.

That said, I read this and other Accord forums last night for over 5 hours and the one thing that I can't get past is some of the issues/problems that folks have with the CVT.

I realize that Honda sells hundreds of thousands of cars with the CVT and the numbers of known complaints are relatively low, however, I can't help but think these numbers will increase with time and higher milage.

That, along with the fact that the CVT requires more frequent fluid changes than a conventional auto trans, I'm starting to rethink the Accord altogether.

2016 Accord Touring....had the entire Info-tainment (Radio, Back-up camers), system go dead. Wife mentioned it happened once before for one ride. Well, discovered that the Audio fuses in the engine compartment weren't seated well....and following pushing them all the way down, the units started working again.

Now, being intermittent, it might not have been the problem...time will tell

Went test driving the Accords and after noting some issues we just couldn't see buying one. First was the wind noise at freeway speeds. Not an overall noise like most cars have but, a distinct noise as if a window was open slightly on the passenger side of the car. Next, at slow parking lot speeds, I could hear and feel through the pedals, a transmission vibration but not all the time which bothered me. Both the sales guy and service manager said that was normal. Lastly were the seats which are very uncomfortable. What was Honda thinking? The spot just above the lumbar support felt like it was too narrow. I couldn't sit in them very long. Anyway, we went next door to the Toyota dealer just to look at a new Prius and ended up driving one home.

And hence the reason why there are many different automobiles available, "..to each their own"

This is our 5th Honda and we are very pleased... wishing you many happy miles with your Toyota
