Hi Everyone,
Has anyone modified a hitch other than the one intended for their specific year of accord and make it work?

I have an 02' Accord 4 cyl. Sedan and have access to a 1995 Accord Reese hitch in near mint condition. It would be used for towing a light weight trailer for short distances (1hr. max.).
Does anyone know what it takes to make this hitch work?
Drilling extra holes is not a problem but I would not be interested in cutting and welding.

Thoughts, opinions, suggestins welcome (Yes, even the "you shouldn't modify any trailer hitch" garb)

ive never done this for an accord, but i had a friend who did this with his 96 dodge neon. Granted he bought the hitch from uhaul and returned it when we finished our trip. And the car was pushing about 300HP. This probably wont help you any, but theres always a slim chance that it might

 

The chances of the hitch mounting directly up from a 95 to an 02 are slim to none because I think typically they mount to the frame... You could always hold it up to the underside of your car and see if it matches up to the frame well enough to drill holes and put some large Lag bolts through to secure it.... otherwise you're looking at cutting and welding... Just hold it up underneath and if the hitch tubing crosses the frame tubing you should be able to do it
