I wouldn't pay the $325 for the slave & master. They do get the parts from Patty Peck Honda right down the road from them. I was there when the delivery guy showed up one day. So I know for a fact that they use genuine Honda parts.
You can get a slave and master for cheaper than that from www.hondaautomotiveparts.com.
You might have to bite the bullet on the flywheel though. None of that really sounds out of the ordinary price-wise to me.
Hey, HondatechAV6, how much would your dealership charge for this job?
The same question goes out to DesertHonda if he ever sees this thread
I still think this is a pretty upstanding shop.
Definitely let me know if you are not satisfied though. I may think twice before using them again. I hope I never have to anyway. maybe when it's time for timing belt change #2 on the 2000LXI can do it myself.

if there is nothing wrong with the master why do they want to replace it? If you can DIY I'd just buy the slave from an OEM honda place online and save a couple hundred dollars...
Well, I called back and try to cancel both order on the Slave and Master. Steve said he can't. Then, I told him that I can see how he can charge me $325 for both replacements since the tranny is going to be out. After that, he said can he can do only the Slave for $120 ($80 for the Part and $40 for the Labor). So, I guess its $80 per Hour.

They probably figure an hour for it, so it is probably $40 per hour. A reasonable hourly fee if it actually takes them an hour to do the slave(yeah right)
I paid them more than I should have to resurface my rotors. I was already paying with my credit card though so I was like: "what the heck, might as well do it anyway"

gotta love the bait and switch routine!!! did you tell them that 00accordlx5spd sent you???
They acted they didnt care...When I said one of there guys told me about them and etc.... Plus there air compressor went out...So that is why I didnt get my Car Back today..
With the amount of money they charge they should of had a back up compressor on standby, that way there bank accounts can just keep on growing

if it's only a .5 hour job that's $20.00 I'd just have them do the slave for that if it's not going to break the bank... If it's a huge deal and money is really tight then order it online and do the work yourself...

I just caught that... shop rates are getting steep these days but so is the overhead, with new technology comes newer more expensive tools... $120 isn't horrible but considering you can buy the part online for about $60ish dollars including s/h and DIY.... Is it worth $60.00 to have someone besides yourself do it?
