Default automatic to manual

I have a 97 Honda Accord ex automatic

and I was wondering if it is possible to switch to a stick shift
and if its worth it and how I would have it done.
My dad said hes transferred as manual to a automatic rwd but never the other way on a fwd

any info would be helpful

thanks

Search, pleanty of write ups around the Honda forums...

Yes it is possible, but it comes with about a $3000 price tag on average.

Seems most people who can do the labor themselves, are OK.

If you have to pay shop labor, it becomes cheaper to sell the car & buy one with a manual.

If your dad's done this, there's nothing tremendously special about Accord. But any FWD car has a lot less room to work, less clearance around the engine/tranny when you're pulling it out. Look how close the engine & tranny are to the fenders on either side...
