I have a 2008 Honda Accord, 4 Cyl, Sedan with about 48,000 Miles and today I got a B12, 15% with wrench indicator.

I am also under the 3 year warranty. Will I get free oil change or do I have to pay? I always got my oil change at Honda though.

I am sure they will try to upsell me to make more money. What do I need to do?

Unless your dealer gave you some offer for some free oil changes, etc., you will have to pay for oil changes and other maintenance services.

The standard 3 year/36,000 miles bumper-to-bumper warranty would already be over. Even if the warranty had not expired, it generally does not cover any free maintenance.

Get the engine oil and oil filter changed. I wouldn't wait much longer. B1 means rotate tires; and B2 means that the engine air filter and cabin pollen filter should also be changed (these are easy enough for you to do yourself).

Symbol B means:
Replace engine oil and oil filter
Inspect front and rear brakes
Check parking brake adjustment

Inspect these items:

• Tie rod ends, steering gear box, and boots
• Suspension components
• Driveshaft boots
• Brake hoses and lines (including ABS)
• All fluid levels and condition of fluids
• Exhaust system
• Fuel lines and connections

 

When is the best time for a oil change? At 15 or 20%?

 

I was recently offered 3 year/36K because Honda put a used engine about the same mileage it had in the original one. The reason: Ran over an object on the road accidently.

I recently changed the AC cabin filter which was few months ago.

Should I get the tires rotated at Discount Tires because that is where I go all the time. I think Discount Tires will charge me because I have not bought any tires from them on this car or will they? I went there for my older Honda though.

Will they check and inspect the stuff you have listed on here for free?

 

You will have to call the dealership to find out what they will inspect and charge for the service. Every dealership is different.

Get the tires rotated at the proper interval.

Your maintenance schedule should be in your owner's manual.

Depending on the oil used, somewhere between 15% & zero is a good time to change oil. Shouldn't need to change early (like 20%) unless you use junk oil that doesn't have any specifications. I expect dealership oil would be good stuff.

When you call to ask if they continue to give free oil changes (I doubt they do) you can also ask what brand of oil they use. (What they used for your last oil change)
