Bad gas milage

Bad gas milage
I have a 95 Accord 2.7L with about 155k miles on it that gets about 15 mpg, give or take. I've owned this car for about two years and I know no history on it before that. When I bought this car the odometer said about 145k. It did not get this gas milage when I bought it. It started like last fall or something. I put new plugs in it and nothing. The car runs and drives great, It just ticks really bad when it's cold before it warms up, but it's always done that. Why does it get such horrible gas milage? It is the worst on the freeway. I have to drive really slow or it gets much worse than 15mpg. Probably like 10 or something. I didn't figure that part out. Thanks.

Are there any stored codes?
Next, are the tune up items up to date- I see the plugs were replaced but what about the rest......cap, rotor, test wires, air, fuel filters. A dose of your favorite fuel system cleaner can't hurt.
Next steps are going to require a bit more.

Are you getting Torque Converter lock up when cruising at Hwy speed?
When cruising at speed holding the throttle steady watch for slight changes of RPM about 2000 when the trans goes in and out of lock up.

no codes, no check engine light. I'm pretty sure it's not tune up stuff, did change the fuel filter though now that I think about it. I changed it last fall and gm got better, and then way worse. I actually did do the fuel system cleaner stuff, but I don't think that stuff really works anyway. Someone said somthing to me about maybe the oxygen sensors. I'm also trying to see if anyone else has similar issues with other hondas. What is torque converter lock up and how do I fix it? I'm sure I have more info if you ask. I'm really trying to get to the bottom of this because all in all it's a pretty nice car and I want to keep it. Plus I had to do front brakes on it and that was the worst I've ever experienced so now that thats done I will keep car.
you have a 66 chevelle, Sweet. I have a 79 Trans Am.

When you are on a highway and are going a constant speed, the rpm will drop about 250 rpm when the torque converter locks up.
You may want to clean the EGR ports on your engine. That is a pretty simple DIY. See this thread.

You may want to stop by a parts store and have the codes read. There are some transmission codes that will not make the D4 light flash. In the common DIY thread, on top of the gen tech help forum, there is a link on checking engine codes.
