Bank 1 Rocker Arm (2011 V6 Accord)
Hi guys,
I just received an invoice from my local dealership detailing the problem that was found in my car. I'm no car guy at all and am just wanting to know a little bit more about what work was done on the car and if this work is any indication that there may be additional trouble in the future. Fortunately the work was covered under warranty this time.
The car is a 2011 V6 Coupe. The invoice states the following: DTC P3400 set due to bad bank 1 rocker arm oil pressure switch. Checked for DTC and found DTC P3400. Replaced bank 1 rocker arm oil pressure switch as ber bulletin." That might as well be Greek to me. Anyone care to explain what happened in rookie terms?

P3400 is valve pause system (VPS) stuck off bank 1. This trouble code is specific to the V6.
In your case, the rear rocker arm oil pressure switch was faulty. Some people's symptoms may be; but not limited to: lack of power, rough idle, etc. Be aware, that sometimes just changing the oil pressure switch does not solve it, it may require changing the rear rocker arm oil control valve (also called a spool valve), which is more costs (if not covered under warranty) and labor than just the switch.
The powertrain warranty is 5-year/60,000 miles.
