Sorry if there is a thread about this somewhere else, but i just got home from work and im extremely tired and dont feel like looking for it. lol. but anyway, this afternoon i started my car and the belt(i think) started squeeling really really loud, but then would stop after about 10 seconds give or take. Then while i was driving down the road, going about.. 30-35ish? it would come back on, but then go away again. If i turn the A/C on it squeels and sounds like grinding gears. I noticed if i shifted into second when turning it would squeek for a split second as i let off the clutch. ALSO, i noticed that when i down shift or rev to high RPM's when accelerating, the battery light comes on. but then goes off after it drops down some. Any help is appreciated.

 

Tighten the tension on the belt that is for the alternator and the compressor. Download the 94 shop manual from one of the links in the online manuals thread in the DIY section.

Page 23-124 shows the two bolts you need to loosen and the adjustment bolt.

 

The alternator was extremely loose because the piece that holds it in wasnt screwed in all the way, and then i tightened the alternator so its good now. Thanks!
