hello, I have an 8th gen Honda 2.0 Accord recently I noticed a flapping sound from the engine as the car ran. Can anyone explain its purpose and should it be loose(opening and closing).

I'm not as familiar with the 2.0 setup. That looks either an access port to the cylinder head, or most likely a seal where a distributor would be installed. I'd suggest finding the part on a site like hondapartsnow.com for your specific vehicle. Is oil leaking from that cap/seal?
