Blower Power Transistor gets hot

In reference to the above thread:
I've found out that the power transistor is cooled only when the car is moving. (i put my hand where the transistor should be, and I can feel the wind when the car is moving, and nothing when the car is not). This is can be bad in slow traffic, in houston summer weather, and your fan at high speeds. Now I am scared to even turn it up high, I only use around 3 bars. Any thoughts on this?

you're overthinking it...the transistor sits in the plenum for the vents and when the blower is running, it cools the transistor regardless of whether you're using a/c, heat, recirc or fresh air modes. it's designed to live in a harsh environment and the heat sink attached to it disipates heat just fine...turn it up brother! good news is when it fails...cuz it will, they are fairly cheap and ez to replace
